An SMPP bind mode that only receives inbound messages and delivery receipts from the SMSC.

Why Receiver Matters

A receiver bind is the mirror of a transmitter bind: a connection dedicated purely to what comes back, delivery receipts confirming a message was delivered, and MO replies from subscribers. Pairing it with a separate transmitter bind lets a deployment scale or monitor outbound and inbound traffic independently.

How Receiver Works

The client opens the session with a bind_receiver PDU. Once bound, the SMSC pushes deliver_sm PDUs to this connection for DLRs and inbound MO messages; the connection cannot submit outbound messages, that requires a transmitter or transceiver bind instead.

How SMPPCenter Uses This

SMPPCenter supports receiver binds for customers running separate transmitter and receiver connections instead of a single transceiver, most commonly to isolate and independently monitor inbound traffic.
