Why Transmitter Matters
Before transceiver binds became the default, a transmitter bind was how a pure sending connection was set up, one that pushes messages out but has no inbound path for replies or delivery receipts. Some deployments still isolate outbound traffic onto its own transmitter connection deliberately, separate from the receiver connection handling everything coming back.
How Transmitter Works
The client opens the session with a bind_transmitter PDU. Once bound, the connection only accepts submit_sm PDUs going out to the SMSC; there is no deliver_sm path on this bind for inbound replies or DLRs, those require a separate receiver bind.
