Why MT SMS Matters
MT SMS is the default direction for the overwhelming majority of business messaging: OTPs, order confirmations, alerts, and marketing sends are all MT traffic. It is the half of two-way messaging most integrations use even when they never handle an MO reply at all.
How MT SMS Works
The application submits the message through the SMSC, over SMPP as a submit_sm PDU or over an HTTP API call, the SMSC routes it to the recipient's network, and delivers it to the handset, with an optional DLR confirming the outcome back to the sender.
How SMPPCenter Uses This
MT SMS is the default direction for virtually every SMPPCenter send, whether triggered manually from the dashboard, through the API, or by an automation plugin, with delivery status available back as a DLR on request.
