JavaScript Object Notation, the lightweight data format most commonly used for messaging APIs and webhook payloads.
Why JSON Matters
APIs and webhooks need a format both machines and developers can read. JSON is text, compact, and supported natively in nearly every language, which is why it became the default for sending a message request or receiving a delivery update.
How JSON Works
Data is written as key and value pairs inside braces, with arrays in square brackets, for example a recipient number, a message body and a sender ID. Values can be strings, numbers, booleans, nested objects or arrays. A request carries JSON in its body, and the response comes back the same way.
How SMPPCenter Uses This
SMPPCenter's REST API accepts and returns JSON, and webhook callbacks for delivery receipts and inbound replies are delivered as JSON payloads your system can parse directly.
