TRAI introduced DLT to curb unsolicited commercial SMS in India. Any business sending promotional or transactional SMS to Indian numbers must register their entity, sender headers, and exact message templates on a DLT platform before traffic will go through.
How DLT Works
A business registers as a Principal Entity, registers its Sender IDs (headers), and registers each message template with the exact wording and variable placeholders it intends to send. Every outbound message is matched against a registered template before the SMSC will accept it; mismatches are rejected.
How SMPPCenter Uses This
SMPPCenter validates messages against your registered DLT templates before queuing them, on the panel, over SMPP, and through bulk SFTP file drops, rejecting and reporting back anything that fails to match rather than silently dropping it.
