Creating a normalization rule in SMPPCenter’s SMPP software allows you to modify messages before they’re sent to the operator. Here’s how to set one up:

Steps to Create a Normalization Rule:

  • Log In: Access your admin account.
  • Navigate to Normalization Rules: Go to Sidebar -> SMPP Client -> Rules -> Normalization Rules.
  • Add a New Rule: On the Normalization Rules page, click Add in the top-right corner to open a modal form.
  • Fill in the Details:
    • UserName: Select the username to apply this rule to.
    • Identifier: Enter a unique title to identify the rule (e.g., “OTP Text Replace”).
    • Description: Provide a brief description of the rule (e.g., “Replaces OTP with Verification Code”).
  • Configure Rule Settings: Set up Vendor ID, Sender Name, Mobile Number, Text Message, and DLT rules as needed (see other FAQs for details).
  • Status: Set to Enabled to activate the rule or Disabled to keep it inactive.
  • Save the Rule: Click Save to apply the rule to your messaging workflows.

Best Practices

  • Use descriptive Identifiers and Descriptions for easy rule management (e.g., “SenderName_Replace_2025”).
  • Test the rule with a sample message to ensure it works as expected before enabling it for live campaigns.
